Out on the Banner Ring Road in Alanahalli, the college building stands near the corner. Mysore is usually calm, but this road stays busy with cars and bikes heading toward the city. The college is where a lot of local teenagers spend their days. The classrooms have high ceilings and those long wooden desks that have seen many years of students. You can usually find a group of kids sitting on the steps during the lunch break, sharing food from their tiffins. The lecturers often walk across the courtyard with piles of paper tucked under their arms. We have a small library, but it gets crowded when exams are coming up. The garden in the front needs a bit of work, but the trees provide some decent shade for the students who wait for the bus. It’s a straightforward place. We don't have fancy glass walls or air conditioning in every room. The bell rings loudly to signal the end of each hour, and you can hear the shuffle of feet everywhere. Alanahalli is a growing part of Mysore, so there is often some construction noise nearby. We just keep doing what we do. The office staff is usually busy with admissions or fixing the schedule. It feels like a second home to many of the students who stay late for extra help or to just finish their work. It’s just Genius P U College, sitting there on the ring road, doing its thing every day with students coming and going since morning.
