Icon International Residential School

You’ll find us on the main road that goes from Mysore to Medikeri, specifically in the Chilkunda area. Since we are a residential school, there’s always someone around the campus, even late at night. The grounds have the dormitories and the classrooms all in one general area. It’s a bit of a drive from the main Mysore city center, which actually makes it quieter for the students. We have kids living here full-time during the school terms. That means our staff has to manage the kitchen, the dining hall, and the sleeping quarters along with the daily studies. The grounds are fairly large and we have some space for sports. We have a strict routine that starts early with breakfast and ends with lights out in the dorms. The staff stays on-site too, so it's a bit like a big family. We deal with the day-to-day needs of the kids, like their laundry, their meals, and their health, on top of their actual schoolwork. It’s a big responsibility and it keeps all of us on our toes throughout the week. The air is a bit fresher out here on the Medikeri road compared to the city. We just try to keep things running smoothly and ensure everyone who lives and learns here has what they need for their classes. It's a busy place but we manage it one day at a time.
