Maharaja Government P U College

Maharaja Government P U College has a long history here in Mysore on JLB Road. If you walk past the old buildings, you can see how much time has passed since it first opened. Being a government college, things move at their own pace here. We have students coming from all over the city and even from nearby villages. They arrive by bus or cycle, and the campus gets very busy around nine in the morning. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the high ceilings keep the rooms cool even when it is hot outside. Our staff rooms are filled with old registers and stacks of papers because we still do a lot of things the traditional way. JLB Road is always busy with traffic, but once you step inside the gates, it feels a bit different. We have large trees that give plenty of shade where students sit during their free periods. It is not a place with modern glass walls or anything like that. It is just a solid, old institution where people come to get their work done. Most of the professors have been here for years and know exactly how everything works. We keep the gates open for anyone who belongs here and just try to make sure the classes happen on time every single day without too much fuss. We have seen many generations pass through these halls and the routine stays largely the same.
