Zi Shan Bags

Zi Shan Bags is down at Shop No. 11 in Mistry Chawl. We are on 2nd Ghelabhai Street in Madanpura, not far from Mohammad Umar Rajjab Road. If you know the Madanpura area, you know the streets are narrow and always full of life. There are scooters zipping by and people carrying goods all day long. Our shop is small, but it’s where we spend most of our hours. We have bags hanging from the ceiling and stacked against the walls. Some are simple cloth bags and others are more heavy-duty ones. The smell of synthetic leather and fabric is pretty strong when you first walk in. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that works hard during the summer months. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see us eating lunch behind the counter or talking to the other shop owners on the street. We’ve been in Mistry Chawl for quite some time now. We know the shortcuts through the alleys and which tea stall makes the best chai. We don't use any high-tech systems to track what we have; we just know by looking at the piles. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. People come to us because they know we’re always here and we don’t put on any acts. It’s just a bag shop in a busy street, trying to get through the day.
