Laxmi Bags

We've been at Mumbai Central for a long time now. People usually find us near the station area when they're looking for something to carry their stuff in. Laxmi Bags isn't a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop where we keep stacks of bags for all sorts of uses. Some folks come in for school bags for their kids and others want something sturdy for travel. We mostly just deal with whatever people in the neighborhood need on a daily basis. My father started this and now I’m here most days. The shop gets a bit crowded in the evenings when the trains are busy. It’s a small space, so we have bags hanging from the ceiling and piled up in corners. You have to look around a bit to see everything we have. We don't really do much advertising because people just know we're here. Sometimes the zippers break on old bags and people bring them to us, though we mostly just sell new ones. It’s a simple business. We try to keep the prices fair so locals keep coming back. It’s hot in the summer and the rain gets in a bit during monsoon, but we stay open. Dealing with customers all day keeps us busy. Most of the regulars stop by just to say hello even if they aren't buying anything. That’s just how it is around here at Mumbai Central. We also have those big plastic sacks for people moving house.
