Z P Bag House

Z P Bag House is located in Room No 106 of the C H S Old Building. This is in Vijay Nagar, right along the 90 Feet Road in Dharavi. It’s a busy spot. There’s always something happening outside on the road. Inside, we make bags. We have sewing machines and rolls of fabric and zippers everywhere. It’s not a big space, just a room really, but we manage to get a lot done. My family has been around this area for a long time. We know the 90 Feet Road like the back of our hands. Working in Dharavi means you have to be practical. You use the space you have. We make all sorts of bags, mostly for people who need something sturdy for work or travel. It’s loud because of the machines and the traffic outside. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait, but that’s part of life here. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just see the bags or hear about us from a neighbor. The building is old, as the name says, so the stairs are a bit narrow. You have to be careful when you are carrying big bundles of materials up to Room 106. We just keep our heads down and keep stitching. That’s how we’ve always done it here. It is just a regular life for us.
