Zap Cabs

Zap Cabs is tucked away in Shop No 9 on Akurli Road in Kandivali East. We are quite close to the Balaji Industrial Estate, so there are always a lot of tempos and trucks passing by during the day. The shop itself is small, just enough room for a computer, a couple of chairs, and some files where we keep the driver records. It is usually a bit noisy because of the traffic on Akurli Road, but you get used to it after a while. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating with the drivers and making sure they are reaching their spots. It is not a flashy office. We have some old calendars on the wall and a small fridge for water. People often drop in to ask for a cab for the airport or a trip out of the city. We keep a ledger to write everything down because it’s easier than relying only on the screen. The floor is a bit uneven, and the paint is peeling in the corners, but it serves our purpose. Most of the drivers live nearby, so they hang out outside the shop while waiting for their next duty. It’s a simple business. We open early and usually stay until the last booking is sorted out for the night. We don't bother much with making the place look fancy; we just focus on the cars and getting the work done every single day.
