Yokta Holidays & Events is based in Girgaon, at 88/C Jitekar Wadi on Thakurdwar Road. Our office is in building number 2/3, which is right near the Fanaswadi corner. It is a very traditional Mumbai neighborhood with lots of old buildings. The place is old and has that specific smell of aged wood and stone. We spend our time planning trips and small events for people who live in the area. It involves a lot of phone calls and looking at maps or travel guides. Sometimes people come in just to chat about where they want to go for their next vacation. We have some old travel posters on the walls that have faded over time. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many files and brochures piled up on the shelves. Outside, the street is always full of life, with vendors selling snacks and people rushing to the train station. We have been here in Jitekar Wadi for a few years now. It is not a corporate setup at all. We sit on simple chairs and use a couple of old computers that take a while to start up in the morning. My sister helps me with the bookings and she usually brings lunch from home for both of us to eat. We like the personal touch of talking to people face to face rather than doing everything online.
