World Plastics

World Plastics is up on the 9th floor at A-2, 55 Huges Road in the Mumbai Central area. Being on a higher floor means we don’t get as much street noise as the shops below, but we do spend a lot of time waiting for the elevator. It’s an office and a bit of a storage space for our plastic goods. We deal with all kinds of plastic items, from containers to industrial parts. It’s a bit of a maze in here with all the boxes stacked up against the walls. The view from the window shows a lot of the city, but we are usually too busy with orders to look out much. Mumbai Central is always moving, and we are right in the middle of that rush. People come up here to discuss bulk orders or to check out samples of new materials we’ve brought in. It’s a bit more of a professional setting than a street-level shop, but we still keep things pretty informal. We drink a lot of coffee and stay on the phone half the day talking to our suppliers and transport guys. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles with the hot afternoon sun, but we just keep the blinds down and keep working. We’ve been at this Huges Road address for a long time now. It’s a solid place to work from, even if carrying heavy samples down to the ground floor is a bit of a chore when the lift is slow and the heat is especially high.
