Voltamp Controls is down at No. 9 in the Chempazanti housing society. We are right on P. L. Lokhande Marg in Chembur West. Mumbai life is always fast, and this street is no different. There is always someone honking outside or a crowd heading toward the station. Our unit is small but we’ve made it work. We have shelves lining almost every wall to hold all the control gear and tools. It’s a bit of a tight fit when more than three people are standing in the front area. The floor is concrete and shows all the years of us moving heavy equipment around. We’ve been in Chembur for a long time. It’s a good spot because everything is close by, even if the traffic is a nightmare. Usually, there’s a stack of newspapers on the small table near the door. We aren't fancy people. We wear regular clothes and don't mind getting our hands a bit dirty. The air conditioner is old and makes a bit of a rattling sound, but it keeps the heat away. We just focus on the jobs we have for the day. It’s about getting the panels ready and making sure the paperwork is sorted. We don't have a big front desk or a receptionist. If the door is open, you just walk in and talk to whoever is closest. That is pretty much how we spend our time here on Lokhande Marg.
