Vishal General Stores

This is our small place in Jogeshwari East. It’s Shop No 5 in Sonar Chawl. We are right near the BMC Garden. If you know the area, it’s pretty easy to find us. We’ve been here in Sector 32D on Caves Road for quite a while now. Mumbai is always moving fast, and our street is no different. We keep the store stocked with whatever the local families need for their kitchens. It’s a lot of general items like snacks, grains, and soaps. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the traffic on the road, but we try to clean it as much as we can. It’s not a fancy supermarket. Just a regular general store where you actually talk to the person behind the counter. My father started things here and now we just keep it going. We know the local kids who come for biscuits or chocolates after school. The BMC Garden is a nice spot nearby and people often stop in after sitting there. Sometimes it gets really loud outside with the vehicles and the people. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a tight space inside, so everything is stacked high up on the shelves. You have to ask me where things are sometimes because it's hard to see everything at once. It’s just how we do things in this part of Mumbai. We don't have a big staff, just us working every day to keep things moving.
