Vilas Engineering Works

Our workshop is at Plot No-50 on M K Street No 2, just off the 90 Feet Road in Sakinaka. If you know Andheri East, you know it’s always crowded and moving fast. Vilas Engineering Works is basically a big open space filled with tools and machines. It gets quite noisy during the day with all the metalwork going on. We started here because the location was right for getting materials in and out. Most days, you’ll find us covered in a bit of grease or dust. That’s just the nature of the job. We don’t have a receptionist; usually, whoever is closest to the door just wipes their hands and sees who it is. The 90 Feet Road is always packed, so we try to get our loading done early in the morning before the traffic gets really bad. We’ve got a small crew of guys who know how to run the lathes and the welding kits. We take on whatever projects come through the door, as long as it’s something we can handle with the gear we have. It’s honest work. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it tough in the shop, but we have a few big fans that help. People around Sakinaka know us as the place that gets things fixed up. We don't have a website or anything, just the shop and the sign outside that needs a bit of new paint. It is a simple life for us here.
