Harish Engineering Works

Harish Engineering Works is up on the second floor of Habib Mansion. Room number 28 is where we do all the work. Being on Dr. Ambedkar Marg in Parel means there's always a lot of noise from the street coming up through the windows. The IPC Hotel is nearby, so that's a good landmark if you're looking for us. Since we are on the second floor, moving heavy equipment up and down is always a bit of a chore. The space is a bit tight with all the lathes and tools we have squeezed in there. It’s an old building, so the walls have seen a lot of years. We spend our time fixing things and making parts that people can't find anywhere else. It’s dusty work and our hands are usually stained with oil. We don't mind it much. It’s what we do. Sometimes customers come in with a broken piece of machinery and ask if we can salvage it. We take a look and see what can be done. There isn't a lot of space for sitting around. Usually, someone is always grinding something or measuring. We don't have a big sign outside, just the name on the door. It’s a small shop, but we keep busy enough to stay out of trouble. Parel has changed a lot, but we are still here in the same room. We don't plan on moving anytime soon.
