Migfitt Engineering Works

Migfitt Engineering Works is based in the Municipal Industrial Estate over in Worli. Our workshop is on the first floor at No. 27, right on D. C. Road. If you walk around here, you’ll hear the sound of lathes and welding coming from all the different units. Our space isn't very large, and it's usually a bit messy with metal shavings and tools lying around on the benches. That is just the nature of engineering work, I suppose. We’ve been in Gandhi Nagar for years, and we know the other shop owners on this floor pretty well. It’s a gritty part of town, not like the fancy high-rises you see closer to the sea link. We focus on getting the parts made and making sure the measurements are right. Sometimes we stay late when a big order comes in, drinking tea and checking the specs one last time. There aren't any fancy slogans here. We just take the blueprints and do the manual labor required to turn them into real parts. The elevators in the building can be a bit temperamental, so we often end up taking the stairs. It keeps us moving. It’s honest work, and we don’t try to make it sound like something it isn't. Just a bunch of guys in grease-stained shirts doing our best to get things out the door on time. We often have to shout over the noise of the machines just to hear each other.
