Yazad Engineering

Yazad Engineering is based out of D 1/81 in S. Bharucha Baug, which is right off S. V. Road. It’s a bit of an unusual spot because it’s part of a residential complex, but we make it work for our small engineering projects. We have some basic lathes and tools set up in the workspace. S. V. Road is always loud with traffic, so we are used to the constant sound of horns and buses while we work on our parts. We usually take on smaller jobs that the bigger shops don't want to mess with. It’s mostly just a couple of us here, looking at drawings and trying to get the measurements exactly right. The space is a bit tight, so we have to be very organized with where we put the scrap metal and the finished pieces. People from the Baug sometimes peek in to see what we are making. We don't have a secretary or a formal reception; you just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a tool at the moment. It’s a practical way to run things, and it keeps our overheads low. We've been in this corner of the building for years. Most of our tools are old but they still work just fine for what we need. It’s just a small shop doing engineering work in the middle of the city, and we like the routine.
