You’ll find Vijay Engineers on the first floor of 38 Bibijan Street. We’re in Office Number 20, right in the heart of the Nagdevi area. If you’ve ever been to Nagdevi, you know it’s a maze of hardware shops and industrial suppliers. It’s crowded, noisy, and always moving. Our office is up a narrow flight of stairs which can be a bit tricky if you’re carrying heavy bags or feeling tired. Once you’re inside, it’s a bit quieter than the street below. We’ve been here for years, dealing with various engineering parts and tools. The shelves are packed with catalogs and some small components we keep for samples. It’s a tight space, so we have to be organized, though it might not look like it to an outsider. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to people who climb up the stairs to see what we have in stock. We don't have a big showroom or flashy displays. It’s mostly just desks, a couple of chairs for visitors, and a lot of filing cabinets. We know most of the other shopkeepers on the street, so there’s a lot of shouting back and forth across the lanes. It’s a traditional way of doing business, but it works for us. We close up when the market starts to wind down in the evening. It’s a good spot to be if you’re in the engineering trade and like the bustle.
