Vijay Covers

Vijay Covers is tucked away at 11 Marwadi Chawl, right behind Omkar Tower in the Lokhandwala Market area. We are in Samarth Nagar, which is part of Vile Parle East. It is a very crowded market and finding our specific chawl can be a bit of a puzzle the first time you try. We have been making covers for all sorts of things here for years. Whether it is for a scooter or a piece of machinery, we try to cut the material to fit just right. The space we work in is quite cramped and we have rolls of fabric leaning against every wall. It gets a bit chaotic when we are busy, with scraps of plastic and cloth everywhere. Being behind Omkar Tower means we don't get much of a breeze, so it stays pretty warm inside. We aren't much for fancy talk or trying to sell people things they don't need. Usually, someone comes in with a measurement and we tell them when it will be ready. Sometimes the sewing machines act up and we have to spend an hour fixing them instead of working on the covers. That’s just part of the job. Most of our customers are regulars from the Vile Parle area who know us by name. We just do our work, drink our chai, and go home when the market starts to close up for the night.
