You can find us at 152 Kalbadevi Vadgadi, on Samuel Street near Pydhoni. This is one of those old, narrow parts of the city where everything is packed together. We work with machine tools, which means we are surrounded by heavy iron and steel parts all day. The building is old and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s where we’ve always been. Samuel Street is always full of handcarts and people carrying loads on their heads, so getting things in and out of the shop can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We’ve learned to work around the chaos of the neighborhood. Inside, it’s a bit dark and smells like machine oil, which is pretty much what you’d expect from a place like ours. We spend our hours checking tools, talking to mechanics, and making sure the inventory is right. We don’t really do any fancy marketing; most people know us just because we’ve been on this street for such a long time. It’s a tough environment, especially when it rains and the streets get muddy, but we wouldn’t really know what to do with ourselves if we were anywhere else. We just open up early, do the work, and close up when the sun goes down. Victor Machine Tools Co is just a part of this old neighborhood, and we like it that way.
