At Veda Art, we work out of Gala No 206, which is on the 2nd floor of an industrial building in Mulund West. It is right near the BMC Ground, so we often hear the kids playing or people practicing sports when we have the windows open. Being on the second floor means we have to haul everything up the stairs, which can be a bit of a workout in the mornings. The industrial estate is full of other units like ours, so there is always the sound of machines or hammering coming from somewhere nearby. Our gala is just a rectangular room with high ceilings. We have our benches set up along the walls to make the most of the space. The floor is concrete and has some stains from old work, but it is easy to sweep. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. People who come to see us usually just walk right in past the crates. Mulund West is a decent place to be based, even if the traffic near the ground gets a bit messy on the weekends. The light in the afternoon comes in quite strong from the back window, making it a bit hot. We just use a few old fans to keep the air moving while we focus on our stuff. It is a practical space for what we do, and we have everything we need within these four walls. We stay here until late most days just finishing things off.
