Vac Engineering Works

You can find us over at Sukh Sagar in the Sher-E- Punjab Society. We are at 260./101, right on Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. Being in Andheri means it is always noisy outside. There is a lot of traffic and people are always in a rush. Inside Vac Engineering Works, it feels a bit different. We have our tools and our machines and the smell of oil and metal. It is a real workshop. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably see us in our work clothes, likely with some grease on our hands. The society here is quite old, and we know many of the people around. We spend our days fixing things and making sure the engineering work is done right. It is loud when the machines are running, so we have to shout a bit to hear each other. The Mahakali Caves Road is a landmark itself, so people usually don't have trouble finding the place. We keep the floor as clean as we can, but it’s hard in this line of work. There are always parts and scraps sitting around. We have a small corner for tea and lunch breaks. It’s just a practical space for practical work. We’ve been here at Sukh Sagar for a long time and the routine doesn't change much from one year to the next. It is just how it is.
