V K Industrial Corporation Ltd is based out of the Loha Bhavan building, specifically in rooms 303 and 304. To get here, you have to navigate Maheshwari Road and P D Millo Road. It’s an area that feels very industrial, which makes sense given the name of the building. Loha Bhavan is an old structure and it has that specific smell of metal and old paper that you find in these parts of town. We spend most of our time dealing with industrial supplies and coordinating things from our office on the third floor. There are always trucks moving around outside and the noise of the city is constant. Our office is a bit crowded with ledgers and samples, but we know where everything is. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find polished marble floors, but it’s a functional space that works for what we do. The climb up to the third floor is part of our daily exercise since we’re usually back and forth a few times a day. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the core of the business remains the same. The heat can get a bit much in the middle of the day, so we usually have the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. It’s a straightforward place to work and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the traffic and the busy pace of the docks nearby.
