V K Bags

V K Bags is spread between Lalbaug and Mulund, depending on where the work is that day. We spend a lot of time moving between these areas to check on things. It is a lot of back and forth on the local trains. Our main spots are usually cluttered with samples and half-finished projects. We don't have a big corporate office with leather chairs. Instead, we have wooden stools and plenty of thread reels. Some days we are focused on heavy-duty backpacks, and other days we might be making simple cloth bags. The weather usually dictates how much we get done; the monsoon makes everything a bit slower because of the dampness. We don't use much technology, mostly just our hands and the old reliable machines. People in the neighborhood know us as the guys who are always carrying big bundles of material. We are not trying to be the biggest name in the city. We just want to make sure the bags we sell do not fall apart after a week. It is a simple goal, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we even work on Sundays if there is a lot to do. We don't have a fancy story about how we started. We just needed a way to earn a living and we knew how to sew. So, here we are, still at it after all these years.
