V. G. Engineering Works

We are over at Amar Industrial Estate, up on the first floor in unit 16. It's right there in Sakinaka, on the Kurla-Andheri Road. If you know Andheri East, you know how packed this road gets. Our workshop is usually full of the sound of metal being worked on. We do engineering stuff, mostly fixing parts or making small things for other businesses. It’s a lot of grinding and welding some days. The floor is always covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It's not a place for nice clothes. We wear our work gear and just get on with it. We've been in this estate for years. The neighbors are all doing similar things, so it’s a lot of noise and activity all day long. We don't have a big mission or anything like that. We just take the jobs that come in and try to finish them so we can get paid. Sometimes it's hard work, especially when it's hot and the machines are running. We are just regular people making a living with our hands. You won't find any glossy brochures here. If you want something made or fixed, you just come up the stairs and talk to us. We’ll see if we can do it. That’s how we've always run the place. It's just honest engineering work in a busy part of town. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
