United Engineering Co.

United Engineering Co. is over in Bhandup West, at 115 Pannalal Compound. We’re up on the first floor. The compound is always full of activity. There are trucks moving in and out and people shouting across the yard. Our workshop is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s a good space once you get there. It’s not a modern facility with glass walls. It’s an old-school engineering shop with sturdy benches and tools that have seen a lot of use. We do a lot of repairs and custom work for people who come to us from all over the area. It’s a small crew of us. We’ve known each other for a long time, so we don't need to say much to get the job done. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when we have a big project on the floor, but we find a way to move around. We don't have a website with a bunch of fancy photos. We just do the work and let people see it for themselves. If the machines are running, we’re happy. We usually have the radio on in the background while we work. It’s a simple setup. It has served us well for all the years we’ve been here in Bhandup. We’re just regular people trying to do a good day’s work and keeping the machines in order. We know the walls and machines like they’re part of the family.
