You can find us in Wadia Estate, right near Bail Bazar in Kurla West. We’re on Jogeshwari Lane, basically opposite building number ten. It’s a crowded area, very typical for this part of Mumbai. Our workshop isn't very large, but we’ve packed a lot of engineering gear into it. There’s usually some metalwork going on or someone is repairing a motor. It can get pretty loud with the hammers and drills. We’ve been in this lane for a long time. People know us as the place to go when something mechanical breaks down. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a tool at the moment. We do a lot of custom jobs, things that big factories won't touch because they're too small. It’s honest work. The monsoon season is always a bit of a challenge here because the lane gets messy, but we stay open. We’ve got grease on our hands most of the day. That’s just how it is. Sometimes we have to hunt for parts all over the city, but we usually find what we need. It’s a busy life in Kurla. We don't do much in the way of paperwork unless we absolutely have to. Most of our business is just done face-to-face with people we’ve known for years. We just get on with the job and hope the machines behave themselves today.
