Uma Engineering Works

Uma Engineering Works is located in Byculla, specifically in the Dabholkarwadi area. It is one of those old-school spots where the sounds of metal hitting metal and the hum of engines are just part of the background. We have been here for a long time, working in this workshop. The floor is usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings because we are always cutting or fixing something. It is not the cleanest place, but it is where the real work happens. Byculla has changed a lot over the years, but our little corner in Dabholkarwadi feels pretty much the same. We take on all kinds of repair jobs and custom metal work that people bring in. Sometimes it is a small part for a household item, other times it is something bigger for a local factory. We have a few old machines that still run better than the new ones. There is no air conditioning, just a few big fans to keep the air moving while we work. We know our regulars by name and they know they can just walk in and find us at the bench. It is a simple life of fixing things and making sure the engineering is solid. We don't spend money on marketing; we just do the jobs as they come. It is just us and the tools in Byculla.
