Transpower Solutions is one of those places where there is always something technical going on. We don't have a specific address to point to here, but the work we do keeps us moving around quite a bit. It’s a lot of dealing with electrical stuff and power systems. Most of us are more comfortable with a toolkit than a pen. The office space we use is usually cluttered with parts, wires, and manuals that have been seen better days. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find fancy decorations or nice carpets. Everything is very practical and built for use. We spend a lot of time on the phone trying to track down components or explaining things to clients who are having power issues. The coffee is usually strong and people are always coming and going. It’s a bit of a loud environment because there’s always someone testing something or moving heavy equipment around. We don’t really do the whole corporate image thing. We just focus on solving the problems that come across our desks. If something breaks, we fix it. That’s the general attitude. It’s a bit gritty and hands-on, which suits us just fine. We have a small team, and everyone knows their job. We just get through the daily list and try to make sure everything is working like it should before we head out for the evening. It is honest work.
