Mahinder Decorators

Mahinder Decorators is based over on Matunga Telang Road and we have been in this spot for quite a few years. It is a busy street and our shop is tucked right in there among the other local businesses. We spend a lot of our time moving chairs, rolls of heavy fabric, and lights back and forth for whatever events are happening. It is hard work, especially when the sun is out and we have to load everything into the small trucks we use. We started out small and mostly stayed that way, just helping people in the neighborhood with their parties or small local functions. Our storage room is always packed to the ceiling with decorations and sometimes it takes a while to find exactly what someone asked for. You can usually find us sitting outside on the small benches when we aren't out at a site working. We know most of the other shopkeepers around Matunga by their names. The business isn't about being fancy or polished; it is just about having the right stuff ready when someone needs to set up a stage for a wedding. We get a lot of requests for flower arrangements too, so the smell of marigolds is pretty common in the office space. It is a family-run kind of thing, so there isn't any of that corporate formality here. We just drink our chai and wait for the next person to walk in with a date.
