Theos Chocolate

Up in Dadar East at Shivaji Nagar, we have our spot in Building No 782, the Patel Buildin. It’s a busy part of the city, and the building itself is quite old. Theos Chocolate is located there, and we spend most of our days dealing with the humidity. Chocolate is a bit tricky when the weather in Mumbai gets like this. We have a small cooling unit that hums all day long. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the ingredients and the packaging. We use the old stairs to get up and down, and they can be a bit steep if you are carrying heavy bags of sugar or cocoa. The people in Patel Buildin are used to us being there by now. We don't have any shiny signs or anything. It’s just a door with our name on it. Most of the time, we are busy tempering or molding things. We don't really talk much while we work because we have to pay attention to the temperatures. Sometimes the street noise from Dadar gets a bit much, especially during the festivals when there are processions. But we just keep going. We aren't trying to be some fancy brand you see in magazines. We just make what we can and sell it to whoever stops by or calls us. It’s just a regular business in a regular building, trying to make things work every day. We enjoy the smell of the cocoa even on the long days.
