We are located at Colaba Causeway, specifically at number 24 near Cusrow Baug. This part of Colaba is always full of people walking around, and our shop is right in the thick of it. The building is quite old, like most of the structures in this area, and it has that specific smell of old wood and stone. Theobroma started out as a small idea and it just grew from there. We spend a lot of our time in the back where the ovens are. It gets incredibly hot back there, especially when we are baking the bread and brownies all at once. We don't have a lot of space for customers to sit and linger, so it’s usually a lot of people coming in and out quickly. The glass display cases are always getting finger marks on them, so someone is always there with a cloth trying to keep them clean. We use recipes that have been around since we first opened, and we don't really change them much. The floor is made of small tiles that are a bit uneven in places. Colaba Causeway can be a very noisy place with all the honking and the shouting from the street vendors, but once you step inside, it’s a bit quieter. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the baking done right every single day of the week.
