Texes Transformers

Our workshop for Texes Transformers is located at A/2052 in the Bhandup Industrial Estate. If you’ve ever walked through these lanes, you know it’s a place where things are built with sweat and effort. We work with transformers, which means our floor is usually cluttered with copper wire, metal laminations, and heavy tools. It’s a gritty place, and there is always a layer of oil or dust on the surfaces, but that’s the reality of making heavy electrical equipment. We don't have air conditioning in the main work area, so it gets pretty humid, especially during the Mumbai monsoons. The team here knows how to wind a coil perfectly and how to assemble the cores without much talk. We’ve been in Bhandup for years, and we’ve seen the estate change, though our unit stays pretty much the same. We aren't interested in fancy talk or corporate branding. We just build transformers that do the job they are meant to do. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a big unit for a customer who needs it urgently. We usually share some snacks and keep the lights on until the work is done. It is a tough job sometimes because of the heavy lifting, but we are used to it by now. We just take our orders, do the winding and testing, and send the finished products out on the local tempos. It is a steady, practical life for all of us.
