Tender Fresh

Our place, Tender Fresh, is tucked away in Andheri East, right near the Zenith Coop Society. If you know the area, you know it’s right opposite the main gate, so we get a lot of people passing by on their way home. It’s a small shop, and sometimes it feels even smaller when we have a lot of stock arriving at once. The fridge is always humming in the background, which is a sound you just stop noticing after a while. We spend a lot of our time dealing with suppliers and making sure everything is as fresh as we can get it. Andheri can be a real headache with the traffic and the noise, but once you’re inside here, it’s a bit more settled. We don’t have any corporate manuals or scripted things to say to people. We just talk to them like anyone else. Sometimes we run out of things earlier than expected, or the rain keeps everyone away for hours. That’s just part of running a shop in this city. The counter is a bit scratched up from years of use, and the lights are maybe a little too bright, but it works for us. We aren't trying to be anything fancy or different. We just stay open, keep the place clean, and serve the people who live in the society and the streets nearby. It’s a simple life, mostly just focused on the daily tasks.
