Dadi Ma'S Foods Pvt. Ltd. has its office at 95, Maker Chambers III, located in Nariman Point. This is one of the more formal parts of Mumbai, right near the sea. Our office is up in one of the higher floors of the building. It is quite a contrast because the name of our company sounds very traditional and homey, but we are working out of a glass and concrete business tower. Inside the office, things are kept fairly simple. We have a few rooms for the management and a main area where the administrative staff sits. There are usually samples of our food products sitting on the desks or in the pantry area. You can see the ocean from some of the windows, which is a nice break from looking at the computer screens. The building has a lot of security and the elevators are usually full of people in suits. We spend our time managing the distribution and looking over the production reports that come in from the factory. It’s not a kitchen; it’s where the planning and the paperwork happen. We have been here for a while and have gotten used to the fast pace of Nariman Point. Lunchtime is when everyone goes down to the small stalls nearby. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily logistics of running a food business from a corporate hub. It’s a practical workspace without any unnecessary decorations or any big corporate fluff.
