We are based in the Aditya Banarsi Heritage building, right across the road from the HSBC office in the Mindspace area of Malad West. Our office is unit number 410. It’s a pretty busy part of town, so there is always a lot of movement on the Malad Link Road outside. We spend most of our time dealing with the technical side of domes and structures. The office is usually filled with large paper drawings and small scale models that we use to check our work. It’s not like a retail shop where people just wander in off the street. We mostly deal with specific projects that take a lot of planning and many phone calls. The building is decent and the air conditioning helps a lot when the Mumbai heat gets bad in the summer. We have a small kitchen area where we make coffee and sometimes eat lunch together. It’s a quiet environment for the most part, except for when the construction nearby gets noisy. We focus on the numbers and the materials to make sure everything fits together properly. Most of us have been working in this field for a long time, so we just get on with the tasks at hand. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and looking at screens or blueprints, but we make sure the work is solid before anything leaves the office. We even have an old plant in the corner that hasn't been watered in weeks but somehow survives.
