Our workshop and office are located at Walchand Terraces on Tardeo Road. New Leather Belts Company India Pvt. Ltd. is a bit of a long name for a place that is actually quite small and focused. When you walk into No. 47-b, the first thing you notice is the heavy smell of treated leather. It is a scent that stays on your clothes even after you go home for the day. We have several long workbenches where the belts are cut and the buckles are fitted. It is a lot of repetitive work, but you have to pay attention so the edges are straight. We don't have a big showroom with glass cases. Most of our products are just packed into plain brown boxes and stacked against the walls until they are ready to be sent out. The building itself is older, and the elevators can be a bit slow, so we often just take the stairs. Our team is small, just a few people who have been doing this for a long time. We don't spend money on marketing or fancy brochures. We just focus on the leather and the tools we use. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the morning fixing them instead of working on the belts. It is just part of the daily grind here on Tardeo Road. We stay busy and we keep the production moving as much as we can because that is how we have always done it.
