Avanti Leathers Limited

Avanti Leathers Limited is based at No. 40 on Kasturi Ranga Road in Alwarpet. This part of Chennai is actually quite nice, with some trees and a bit more room than the crowded markets. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit of time. The office has a certain smell of leather that you just get used to after a few days. We handle a lot of the leather business from here, mostly dealing with suppliers and buyers. It’s not a huge operation, just a handful of us working together. We have some samples around the room so people can see the feel of what we deal with. Sometimes the place gets a bit cluttered with rolls of material and paperwork. We don't really have a big fancy sign outside, just a small one near the gate. People usually find us through word of mouth or by looking up the address on Kasturi Ranga Road. It’s a steady kind of work. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to get the work done with the leather we have. The neighborhood is quiet enough that we can actually hear ourselves think. We take our breaks together and talk about things other than work. It’s a comfortable place to spend the day, and we like being in Alwarpet. There’s a good tea shop nearby that we visit every afternoon to clear our heads.
