Baqai Leathers

We are located at shop 3/71 on Sofia Zuber Road. It’s a busy stretch in Mumbai Central. Our shop is right near the police station and that Siddheshwar computer and xerox place. We work with leather every day. The smell of it is pretty strong when you first walk in, but we don't even notice it anymore. We’ve been in this spot for years. The shop is small and crowded with rolls of leather and different tools. It’s a lot of physical work, cutting and sorting through the materials. Mumbai Central is always loud, and you can hear the traffic and sirens all day long. We know the other shop owners on the block, and we usually get our tea from the same guy every morning. It's a simple way to live. We don't have a website or any of that fancy stuff. People just know we are here. Sometimes the rains make it hard to keep the leather dry, so we have to be careful with the storage. We spend a lot of time just organizing the back room. It’s hard to keep things tidy when you have so much stock. We just open up in the morning and see what the day brings. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We don't try to be anything we aren't, just a leather shop doing our part.
