Swaraj Engineering Work

Our shop is tucked away on Kherani Road in the Shripat Yadav Chawl area. If you know where the Ganshyam Dairy is, we are right near there at B 11. It’s a tight space, but we make it work for the engineering jobs we take on. The neighborhood is always active, mostly people going to the dairy or walking through the chawl. We have our tools and machines set up in a way that maximizes the small floor we have. It gets loud when the lathe is running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. The air always smells a bit like metal and oil here. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices; it's mostly grease on our hands and work clothes. My father started things around here and we just kept it going. Some days the monsoon rain makes the road a bit messy, but customers still find their way to us. We don't have a big sign, just the work we do. It’s a lot of manual effort every single day. We stay late most nights when there’s a big job to finish. The neighbors are mostly okay with the noise we make during the day. It’s just an honest living in a busy part of the city where space is hard to find. We appreciate the people who stop by the shop to talk about their projects and get things fixed properly without any fuss.
