Suraj Bags

We have been running Suraj Bags for a good number of years now right here in Mumbai Central. Our shop is at 5-175/177-B, which is basically directly opposite the Sunni Badi Masjid. It is a busy area with a lot of noise and people moving around all the time, but we like it that way. We spend most of our mornings unpacking new stock and checking the zippers on the bags to make sure everything is okay. It is a small space, so things can get a bit crowded when a lot of customers come in at once. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. We just stack the bags where people can see them easily. Sometimes the weather gets really humid, so we just keep the door open to get a breeze. Being near the masjid means we see a lot of the same faces every day. We know who is looking for a school bag and who needs something for traveling. It is just a simple life of selling bags and talking to the neighbors. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the boxes pile up in the corner. That’s just how it goes when you’re busy. We aren’t trying to be anything big, just a local spot where you can find what you need without a fuss. We just hope the bags we sell last a long time for the people who buy them.
