We are up on the third floor, room 302, in Acme Plaza along the Andheri Kurla Road. It is a very busy part of the city, and the noise from the traffic downstairs never really stops. Inside the office, it is a bit more manageable, though we always seem to have a lot of blueprints and papers spread out over every available surface. We do engineering work, mostly sitting at our desks and trying to figure out how to make things work better. It is not the most glamorous job, but someone has to do it. The building itself is okay, though the elevator is slow and sometimes it is faster just to take the stairs if you are not carrying too much. We have been in this office for several years now, and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. Lunch usually means a quick trip to one of the stalls nearby. We do not spend money on fancy decorations or expensive rugs. We would rather just have good tools and a working printer. Most of our days are spent on the phone or typing away, making sure all the technical details are right for the next project. It is a small team here, and we mostly just get along and do what is on the schedule. It is practical work for people who do not mind a bit of a hectic environment.
