Sudarshan Florist is right near the bus stand on 1st Panjarapole Lane in Dadar West. If you know Dadar, you know how loud it gets with the buses constantly pulling in and out. The diesel smoke and the noise are just part of our daily life. Our little shop is a bit of a contrast to all that grey street stuff. We have our buckets lined up right by the entrance. The lane is narrow, so we have to be careful not to block the path for people walking to the station. I’ve been working here since I was a teenager. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it's on high speed, but it works. We don't try to be anything we’re not. It’s just a place to get flowers. Most of the people who come in are regulars who live in the old buildings nearby or people rushing to catch a bus who realized they forgot to buy something for home. We don't have any fancy brochures. We just show people what we have available that morning. Sometimes the stock is great, sometimes it's just okay depending on the rain. We just take it as it comes. It’s a bit messy, there’s always water on the ground, and we use old newspapers to wrap things up.
