Striking Bags

Striking Bags is located over at Plot No. 43, specifically in Room No. 8 on Line E. If you know Shivaji Nagar in Govandi East, you know it can be a bit of a maze back here on Road No. 6. We’ve been at this spot for some time, making and dealing with all sorts of bags. It’s a small space, mostly filled with materials and sewing machines. It gets pretty loud when everything is running at once. My family helps out too, it’s not a big corporate operation. We just focus on getting the work done every day. Sometimes the power goes out or the street gets flooded when it rains, but we keep going. Dealing with bags is honest work. We make them, we stack them, and we sell them. It’s not a fancy showroom with glass windows. It’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. People from around Govandi East come by when they need something sturdy for school or work. We’re tucked away in the lanes here, so you really have to look for the sign. We don't have a website or anything like that. Just the shop and the bags we make right here on Road No. 6. It’s a busy life, but it works for us. Usually, I'm cutting fabric while my brother handles the stitching. We take breaks when we can, but mostly it's just continuous work from Monday to Saturday. It's a humble living in a crowded neighborhood.
