Sterling Bags

We’ve been here at Rukaiya Chambers on the first floor for a while now. It’s a busy spot right on Hosur Main Road, and if you know the area near Navjivan, you know how noisy the Kithiganahalli Road can get during the day. We spend most of our mornings just moving boxes around and checking the zips on the latest batch of bags. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. The floors are a bit worn down from people coming in and out, and there’s always a thread or two stuck to someone’s sleeve. We started Sterling Bags because we knew how to put things together. Some days the fans don’t work right, and we just have to deal with the heat while we finish the stitching. Most of our regulars are people who just live or work nearby and need something to carry their lunch or tools. We don't spend much time on fancy displays. If you look at the shelves, they’re just packed with whatever we finished yesterday. It’s just us here, usually drinking tea around four o’clock before the evening rush starts. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit, but the 9-A space stays mostly the same. It’s a lot of work, and my back usually hurts by the time I lock up, but it’s what we do. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the next bag on the table.
