Star Falooda

You can find us in Mahim on Una Pani Road, specifically at Shop Number 2 in the Bell View Building. We’ve been serving falooda here for a long time. It’s a small shop, mostly just the counter and the big refrigerators where we keep the milk and ice cream. During the summer, it gets really busy because everyone wants something cold to drink. We spend all day mixing the rose syrup and the noodles and topping them with scoops of ice cream. The floor can get a bit sticky sometimes if we aren't careful, so we are always mopping. There isn't really a place to sit inside, so most people stand on the sidewalk outside the shop to finish their glasses. You can see the traffic on L J Road from the doorway. It’s a noisy spot but we like the energy. We have all sorts of people stopping by, from kids after school to families out for a walk in the evening. We don't use any fancy machines; we do most of the pouring and mixing by hand. It’s a simple life running a sweet shop. We just try to keep the coolers running and make sure we don't run out of ingredients before the night is over. It’s hard work but it’s what we know how to do.
