Standard Engineering Works

Standard Engineering Works has its workshop at B-42 in the Kandivali Industrial Estate. If you’ve ever been to Kandivali West, you know the industrial side is full of life and a lot of noise. We fit right in with the rest of the shops. We do basic engineering work, mostly fabrication and small repairs. The floor is usually covered in metal scraps and tools we’ve been using throughout the day. It’s a working shop, so it’s not exactly tidy, but we know where everything is. We have a few machines that have been with us for a long time. They’re reliable, and so are the guys who work on them every day. We don’t have a big marketing budget or even a fancy website to show off. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people just walking in from the other units in the estate. Engineering is about solving problems with your hands, and that’s what we do here. The heat in the summer can be a bit much with all the machines running, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the job. We’ve been at this location for years. We’ve seen other shops come and go, but we just keep doing our thing at B-42. It’s honest, hard work. There’s no corporate ladder here, just a group of people who know how to work with steel. We take the jobs as they come and try to do a decent job.
