Spice Enteprises

Spice Enteprises. We are in Shop No. 16, which is part of the Tiwari Chawl in Prabhat Colony. This is in Santacruz East. Being in a chawl means we are right in the middle of a real community. There’s always music playing somewhere nearby or kids running around in the lanes. Our shop is small, but it’s packed with spices from floor to ceiling. We handle all sorts of things like whole spices, powders, and our own mixes. We spend a lot of time cleaning and sorting everything. Since it’s such a small space, we have to stay very organized, or we’d never be able to find anything. My father started this business many years ago, and I eventually took it over from him. We haven't changed much about how we do things around here. We still use the same manual scales and the same suppliers we’ve had for decades. Santacruz East has a lot of energy, and we like being a part of that. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. They come in for a small packet of cardamom or sometimes a large bag of chilies for a big meal. We treat everyone the same. Sometimes we sit outside on a little stool when it’s slow and watch the world go by. It’s a good life. We don't need much to be happy here. It's just about being part of the neighborhood.
