You can find us at 302, Vikas, on 11 Bank Street in the Fort area. Girdharilal Agarwal & Co. has been operating out of this part of Mumbai for quite some time. Fort is a historic place, and our office reflects that. It’s an old building with high ceilings and those heavy doors that have been there for decades. We deal with a lot of paperwork and traditional business activities. It’s not a modern, glass-walled office. Instead, we have wooden desks and shelves filled with old files and ledgers. There is a certain smell to these old offices in Fort—a mix of old paper and the city air. The streets outside are always packed with people heading to the banks or the courts. We like the energy of the area. Our day usually starts early before the heat really sets in. We handle our accounts and talk to our long-time associates. Many of the people we work with have been coming to us for years, and we’ve known their families too. It’s that kind of place. We don't use much technology beyond what’s necessary. We prefer the old-fashioned way of doing things where a conversation matters more than an email. It might seem slow to some, but it’s how we’ve always done it. We just keep our heads down and manage the business as it comes, day by day, in this little corner of Bank Street.
