Solutions Design Studio

Solutions Design Studio is tucked away in a very traditional part of Mumbai. If you know Girgaon, you know it is crowded and full of old buildings. We are at 33/B, Madhavdas Premaji Chawl. To find us, you have to come to the first floor and look for Room Number 48. This is the Mughbhat area, which is always busy with people and local vendors. Working in a chawl is a very specific experience. You hear the sounds of the neighbors, the clinking of dishes, and people talking in the corridors. It is not like those modern studios in the suburbs with soundproofing and air conditioning everywhere. We have the old wooden stairs and the high ceilings that you only find in these older Mumbai properties. Room 48 is our little space where we do all our thinking and work. It is small, but we have made it fit everything we need for the design studio. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of stuff lying around, but that is just Girgaon life. You walk out the door and you are right in the middle of the city's old heart. It is a bit dusty and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it has character. We don't need a fancy office to do our job. Being here at Madhavdas Premaji Chawl keeps us connected to the real city and the people who live in it every day.
