Snehal & Sonal Flowers Stall

We start pretty early here at the stall in Ghatkopar West. The mornings are usually the busiest because of the people going to the Dutt Mandir right across from us. It gets quite crowded around Survey No 338-A. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, just handling the fresh arrivals every single day. My hands usually smell like marigolds and roses by the time the sun is actually up, which is fine, I guess. We don't have a big shop, just this stall where we keep everything organized as best as we can on the wooden planks. Sometimes the deliveries are late, which is a bit of a headache, but we manage to make it work. People come by for their daily prayers and pick up what they need for their home altars. It’s mostly regular faces from the neighborhood that we see. We sit here through the heat and the heavy rain under our plastic sheets. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for us when we can take a small break. Dealing with flowers is nice, though it’s hard work on the back and legs from standing so much on the uneven ground. We try to keep the water fresh in the buckets so the petals don’t wilt too fast in the Mumbai humidity. It is just me and the family members helping out most of the time. There isn't much more to it than that. Just a flower stall where we do our work.
