Our office is located at S.B. Surana’s place in Ghoti, which is a small town in the Igatpuri area of Nashik. Being architects out here is quite a bit different from working in a huge city like Mumbai or Pune. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the local geography and the specific needs of people in this part of Maharashtra. The office itself is very basic. We have our drawing boards, some computers for the CAD work, and plenty of rolls of blueprints sitting in the corners. It is a quiet place most of the time, except when the local traffic picks up outside near the post office. We do not have a marketing team or a polished website. Most of our work comes from people in the district who just walk in or hear about us through word of mouth. We deal with the planning and the technical drawings that go into building houses or small commercial shops. Sometimes we have to travel out to site locations, and the roads can be a bit rough during the monsoon season. We just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the plans follow the local rules. It is a straightforward business. We enjoy the pace of life in Igatpuri. It is not a high-pressure corporate environment. We just show up, do the drawings, and help people get their buildings started. It is honest work and we have been at this address for years.
